Good Travel Management (GTM) is expanding into the events arena with a new division.
The Hull-based travel management company has set up GT Events to enter the exhibitions, events and trade missions sector.
The new division aims to build on services already provided to corporate clients in the market.
Two exhibitions and events specialists have been recruited to add to the existing team and form the new division.
Ian Cutts joins as events manager, having worked in the travel sector for 23 years, including the last decade leading a specialist team handling exhibitions, trade missions and events.
He will also be joined in September by Darren Wilkins, working in a sales and relationship role.
Managing director Kevin Harrison said: “We’ve worked in this area for many years; however, the expertise and connections that Ian and Darren possess will help us to take a major step forward at a time when larger events have been sorely missed from the business scene due to Covid.
“We are already working on several exhibitions for late ‘21 and 2022 and the appetite is certainly there.
“Whilst virtual exhibitions and events where able to bridge a gap during Covid, they do not replace the value and benefit you gain from face-to-face relationship building, learning and experience.”
Cutts added: “I’m really looking forward to bringing together my skills alongside my commercial and supplier relationships to build a new programme as the global events and exhibitions sector starts to rebuild.
“We start with Medica in Dusseldorf in November 21 and then will be launching our full listing for 2022 shortly.”
