Walking holidays specialist HF Holidays is claiming increased demand and confidence in travel on the back of the Covid-19 vaccine rollout.
The most popular domestic departure months start as early as April and May, plus limited availability in the July and August summer peak, while bookings continue through to September and October.
The operator experienced a “surge” in UK bookings and website activity over the last few weeks, “indicating a positive increase in guest confidence in booking for the UK”.
Michelle Laverick, head of sales, marketing and membership said: “Web bookings over the month of January grew week by week, with a significant peak during the last week of January 2021.
“The growing demand for UK walking holidays and staycations for 2021 has been very evident.”
The most popular locations among its 17 country properties include St Ives in Cornwall as well as Malham, Whitby, Church Stretton and Derwentbank.
The company also reported “reassuring movement” in demand for Europe with booking activity from July onwards.
The activity is “showing there is definite customer demand and confidence in travel,” Laverick said.
