Hotelplan UK staff collected 40kgs of rubbish during a charity day out to help clean south coast beaches.
Thirty three employees from across Inghams and parent company Hotelplan UK travelled to Hayling Island in Hampshire to help.
Sasha Darling and Nikita Crane from Inghams along with Pip Meadows from sister company Explore Worldwide also carried out their own beach clean in Bournemouth as part of World Ocean Day.
Explore Worldwide sustainability specialist Hannah Methven said: “We talk about looking after the destinations we visit a lot, but we want to protect what’s on our doorsteps as well.
“We were shocked at the amount of microplastics on the waterline, but at the end of the day felt so proud that our teamwork enabled us to remove 40kgs of rubbish from the beach.
“It was eye-opening to have collected that much plastic considering the beach looked clear on first sight. A day volunteering boosted our mood and allowed us to spend time with colleagues away from our desk – a bonus that we were at the beach in the sunshine.”
