Journey Latin America launches US and Canada brand

Journey Latin America has launched a sister brand specialising in the US and Canada.

Journeyscape goes on sale through the trade on July 15 after its initial launch with the specialist operator’s direct client base.

It is the first time the specialist has produced a programme outside central and south America, where it has operated tailormade and small, escorted group tours for almost 45 years.

Journeyscape has a team of travel experts with first-hand knowledge of north America who have put together more than 60 “inspiring and authentic” journeys across the US and Canada for the programme’s launch.

Head of product Stuart Whittington said: “With the launch of Journeyscape, we’re bringing our expertise, philosophy and passion to the US and Canada.

“We’re excited to be working with some incredible local partners on the ground to offer classic trips and off-the-beaten-track experiences that cover the length and breadth of North America, from enjoying the rhythms of the US’ Deep South to wildlife spotting in the remote Inside Passage between Canada and Alaska.”

He described the expansion – which has been in the planning for several years – as the “very natural next fit” for Journey Latin America. The operator surveyed clients for feedback and said the new destinations would encourage loyal clients to return to the brand more often.

Managing director Sarah Bradley said the new programme “mirrored” the style of Journey Latin America, adding: “We are so excited to be broadening our focus to include the US and Canada.”

Trips featured in the new collection range from a 12-day Rockies, Whales and Bears self-drive in Alberta and British Columbia, from £3,840, to a 22-day The Real Route 66 Extended, a self-drive along the original ‘mother’ road from Lake Michigan in Chicago to Santa Monica, from £4,900,

Other itineraries include a 15-day Native America Country tour through the tribal lands of some of the US’ oldest and largest tribes, starting and ending in Phoenix, Arizona. It explores Scottsdale, Gallup, Monument Valley, Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon, with the company of native American guides throughout.

A 19-day Alaskan Expedition Cruise: Inside Passage, Bears and Aleutian Islands, sails from Vancouver through the fjord-lined Inside Passage and across the Gulf of Alaska to the tip of the Bering Sea. It has scientists on board and the opportunity to explore more remote inlets, islands and coastal communities.
