A new tourism minister has been named as part of the government shuffle under new prime minister Rishi Sunak.
Stuart Andrew, MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough in Yorkshire, was welcomed to the role by VisitBritain chief executive Patricia Yates.
On Twitter, she said: “Delighted that the new tourism minister is @StuartAndrew – looking forward to working with him to drive economic growth right across Britain.”
Life peer Lord Syed Kamall had assumed the position of tourism minister in September under the short-lived Liz Truss administration.
However, Andrew has now taken up the role after being re-appointed to the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) as a parliamentary under secretary of state.
His previous roles include housing minister and government whip.
