Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ incoming vessel Seven Seas Grandeur has touched water for the first time during a float out ceremony.
The 746-passenger ship, due to be delivered in November this year, will be among the “highest staff-to-guest ratio” vessels in the industry and has been built with the latest environmental protection technologies, shipbuilding firm Fincantieri said.
Seven Seas Grandeur is being built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Ancona, Italy. Fincantieri said the ship’s interiors were “particularly sophisticated with every attention paid to the guest experience”.
Fincantieri has also built Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor in the line’s fleet.
Seven Seas Grandeur is also 55,000 tons like Seven Seas Grandeur’s sister vessels.
President Andrea DeMarco said: “While our new ships are always highly anticipated, Seven Seas Grandeur has proven to be so popular, we had to create an additional sailing for her inaugural season.
