Solmar Villas expands into Amalfi coast

Solmar Villas has introduced the Amalfi coast as a new destination for 2023.

A collection of an initial 20 properties in the Italian region have been unveiled by the operator, with bookings being taken for next year.

The company’s programme now features more than 800 properties in 22 destinations, with 10,000 bookings a year.

The Burton-on-Trent business employs 30 staff in the UK and a further 35 in-resort villa managers.

It was established 28 years ago and is now run by managing director Julie Blake, daughter of the founders.

She said: “There’s no doubt that travellers are looking to holiday in destinations which offer something extra – and the amazing Amalfi coast can deliver that.

“Our guests increasingly want to really experience the destinations in which our hand-picked properties are located, whether that’s indulging in the local cuisine or feeding a craving for culture.

“This stretch of coastline, with its pretty towns and villages and memorable views, has a connection to the glory days of the 1950s when life was much simpler and there’s a growing trend of travellers wanting to visit precisely because of this.

“And of course, it’s more recently become the destination of choice for celebrities including Angelina Jolie and her brood and the Kardashians, which probably has increased its visibility as a family holiday destination too.”
