Tourism Western Australia to host virtual trade roadshows

Tourism Western Australia is to host a virtual networking and educational roadshow next month.

The Western Australia Roadshow, from April 19-22, is designed to connect agents with new and established Western Australian product as well as representatives from the state’s regional tourism offices and from the Western Australia Indigenous Tourism Operators Council (WAITOC).

Agents can find out about Western Australia’s unique selling points, popular itineraries for UK visitors, and ‘big trip’ ideas like cruising the Kimberley, as well as the latest news and openings.

Sessions for UK product managers will take place from 9am to 11am on Monday April 19 and Tuesday April 20. Agents are invited to a 10-11:30am session on Thursday April 22.

At each event, attendees will have the chance to win a spot on a fam trip to Western Australia in 2022 courtesy of Tourism Western Australia and Emirates Airlines.

Prior to the impact of Covid-19, Western Australia had record UK visitors. Numbers were up 5% year on year in December 2019. The rise has been partly put down to the launch of non-stop Qantas flights from Heathrow to Perth.

Rottnest Island, home to the quokka, saw a 21 per cent increase in visitor numbers pre Covid-19.
