A second ship in a year has been named by Viva Cruises with a third new river cruise vessel set to enter service in September 2024.
The 190-passenger Viva Two was christened at the company’s home port of Dusseldorf.
The launch of Viva Three will see the company introduce a trio of vessels over three years.
Viva Two will mainly sail on the Danube on five-day trips or seven-night cruises from Passau or Vienna. The programme will also include a 16-day voyage in the summer.
The vessel will return to Dusseldorf for January, February and March to run four-night city trips to the Netherlands and Belgium.
A catalytic converter and a particle filter have been added to the ship’s exhaust system, enabling it to meet EU Stage V exhaust emission standard, which regulates strict compliance with emissions in both European and German inland shipping.
The ship also has 76 solar panels that support its electrical system.
