Westoe Travel has confirmed a raft of appointments to help grow the business as it marks its 34th anniversary.
Owners Graeme and Joan Brett, who will continue to work full time at the South Shields-based travel agency, have promoted their daughter Gillian Vogel to manager and Alice Appleby to assistant manager.
Vogel has worked for her parents’ agency full-time since 2008.
As part of the restructure, Graeme will focus his efforts on Westoe’s Rail Adventures tour operator business, while Joan will become finance director and will oversee the firm’s portfolio of Canada tailor-made holidays.
Chloe Brown, who has completed her apprenticeship at Westoe, has joined the team full-time and will be responsible for social media and administration.
Maddy Amos joins as a travel apprentice after completing her degree at Newcastle University last summer.
Joan said: “The restructure will allow us to continue to grow the business and keep the same values that have won us so much repeat business and referrals from existing customers.”
Graeme added: “Alice and Gillian must be two of the most widely travelled people in the industry. Their knowledge and experience is invaluable to our customers and our new team members.
“They have been to all corners of the world and their travel knowledge is a joy to listen to.”
