The launch of Prince Harry’s memoir has sparked a surge in demand over recent weeks for London breaks during the coronation weekend in May, according to Charitable Travel.
The social enterprise travel agency said the biography, called Spare, has prompted a 78% month-on-month increase in enquiries from travellers from across the UK about short breaks in the capital over May 6.
King Charles III will be crowned at Westminster Abbey on Saturday May 6 and an extra bank holiday has been added on Monday May 8.

Melissa Tilling, founder and chief executive at Charitable Travel, said: “It appears the recent Royal revelations galvanised Royalists from across the country, as we have experienced a significant increase in interest for two and three-night breaks in London as people flock to support the Royal family.
“It’s going to be an incredibly busy weekend, with hotels already filling up.”
She urged consumers to book now for the coronation weekend because of demand for breaks over that holiday weekend.
The agency is offering a two-night stay in east London from £265, or £335 with train travel from York, departing on May 5.
The price includes B&B accommodation and is based on two sharing.
