Use ChatGPT to help with lates, Hays IG conference told

Hays Travel Independence Group (IG) members have been encouraged to use ChatGPT to help create marketing content for social media.

Hays Travel social media manager Natalie Heatlie said drawing on artificial intelligence could help agents to boost their performance in the lates market.

“Utilise different tools we have available, such as artificial intelligence tools like the free ChatGPT, to help inspire content ideas for social media,” Heatlie told the Hays Travel IG conference in Leeds on March 5.

In the presentation, presented jointly by Heatlie and Hays Travel marketing manager Dionne Evans, agents were shown examples of eye-catching social media channels run by IG members.

Agents should highlight the “human touch” element of their service and emphasise the “personalised offering”, Heatlie and Evans said.

They recommended that agents should create urgency in their social media posts, encouraging customers to act immediately.

The advice came after research suggesting that May and June will be the most popular times to travel this year, with increasing numbers of customers likely to book between eight and 10 weeks before departure.
