Latin Routes has added Belize to its portfolio and confirmed planned trade activity to help agents sell the destination.
The tour operator intends to hold “collaborative” events for agents while promoting window posters, social media graphics and a selling guide, with an incentive scheme also in the pipeline.
Senior product manager Cat Davies said: “We are delighted to introduce Belize as our newest destination, a country filled with incredibly diverse experiences, from Maya archaeological sites, incredible wildlife spotting, inspiring community visits, beautiful coast and cayes, and opportunities to explore the second largest reef in the world.”
Latin Routes has teamed up with the Belize Tourist Board to introduce trips to the destination, which sits between Mexico and Guatemala.
It is described as the “perfect contrast” to its neighbours and recommended as an addition to a multicentre trip featuring other countries.
Felipe Francisco, Latin Routes’ head of marketing, said: “To further promote the destination among our valued trade partners we’ve created bespoke marketing material to help them sell this incredible country, all available on our trade marketing hub.”
Belize tourism minister Anthony Mahler said: “We look forward to welcoming travellers to Belize as they embark on new adventures across our rainforests, barrier reef and vibrant cultural offering.
“The inclusion of Belize in Latin Routes’ portfolio presents a great opportunity to experience the essence of our country while making a positive impact on the environment and local communities.”
Latin Routes’ events for agents will take place in both the north and south of the UK, the operator said.
