Air Mauritius upgrades seating to fend off competition
AIRMauritius has started refurbishing cabins on its Airbus A340 and Boeing 767 fleet.By the end of next month, the 12 first-class seats in the A340 will be given an extra recline to offer 160 degrees. In business class, the airline is reducing seat numbers from 35 to 28 in order to increase seat pitch to 43ins.
Work is also due to start on the refurbishment of the economy cabin in both types of aircraft this winter to update the product.
Regional manager Chris Gilbert said the investment in improved seating was designed to match that being offered by rivals, including British Airways.
