Amersham Travel has yet to submit an application to reapply for membership of the Guild of Business Travel Agents following its acquisition by Travelstore.com. Under GBTA rules, every company has its membership terminated when it changes ownership although members want a relaxation of the rules.

Virgin Atlantic has attacked airline alliances for damaging competition and forcing up prices. In a conference speech, commercial executive director Paul Griffiths said they harm brand identity and confuse customers.
