Webweekends gains support

SHORT-break specialist webweekends.co.uk has signed up 50 tour operators to supply product to its newly launched Web site.

Sales director Mick Mason, who originally forecast it would have 20 partners at the time of its launch, said it had secured more deals with operators than expected (Travel Weekly, April 3).

Suppliers include Superbreak, French Life, Mundi Color, Hoseasons Holidays Abroad, Kirker Holidays, Sunvil Holidays, Abercrombie and Kent and Bales. However, Mason said negotiations were still continuing with Travelscene.

Webweekends.co.uk has been set up to exploit the boom in the short-break market. It is defining a weekend break as a trip of up to three nights, with one night either being a Saturday or Sunday.

It has just launched a three-month press advertising campaign.
