Bermuda Tourism adds extra venue to annual trade event

BERMUDA Tourism has added Manchester to its annual Marketplace event.

Bermuda’s director of tourism, UK and Europe, Ian Parker, said: “Marketplace is Bermuda’s most important travel trade event and the North is a key selling area.

“Over the past couple of years, we have seen the number of UK visitors increase by 10% and the business opportunities that are created at Marketplace are an important factor.”

Marketplace starts at London’s Le Meridien Hotel in Piccadilly on March 6 and moves to the Midland Crowne Plaza Hotel in Manchester on March 8.

Bermudan suppliers including hoteliers, ground handlers, golf and dive operators will take stands at the event.

Four UK tour operators – Prestige Holidays, MainStreet USA, North American Travel and Caribtours (Bermuda Escapes) are also exhibiting. Bermuda Minister of Tourism, David Allen, is hosting a Bermudan themed dinner to end each event.
