In the dark: Advantage members were not consulted about the Web site decision

Members blast Advantage for spending £150,000 on Web site

ADVANTAGE members have criticised the consortium for spending £150,000 to set up its Web site without consulting agents.

One member, who did not wish to be named, accused Advantage of also spending an additional £20,000 on an auction site on the Web pages.

He said members had not been given an opportunity to discuss the matter.

“This is another mess like the Airtours franchise,” he added.

Ken McNabe, who owns The Travel Company in Edinburgh, agreed that Advantage needs to keep up with technological developments but added:”We should have been told what other options were looked at.”

Advantage president Roger Smith said the board is elected to make decisions and if members do not like them, they should elect a new board. He denied the auction site cost £20,000.
