News desk appointments
TRAVEL Weekly has made several key appointments to its news team.Deputy news editor Lisa James has been promoted to news editor and travel journalist Diane Smith has been brought in as deputy news editor, specialising in business travel.
Meanwhile, two new reporters have also been recruited. Louise Longman, who joins from industry magazine Supermarketing, will specialise in aviation. Lee Winter, who will cover hotels and car rental, joins from the Gazette and Herald Express in Hemel Hempstead where he worked as a reporter. They join Travel Weekly on July 10. Editor Jeremy Skidmore said:”Over the past couple of years, Travel Weekly has been the paper which consistently gets the big stories first. Our coverage has been unrivalled and I’m confident our new team will improve it further.”
