n freedom flights widens distribution


Independent seat-only operator Freedom Flights has extended its travel agency distribution network by concluding a deal with the 150-shop Midconsort Group. The Gatwick-based operator already has deals to supply seats to a range of European destinations to the Global Group, the Association of European Travel Agents and the Travel Trust Association.


n cosmos flights boosts capacity


Cosmos Flights has increased capacity for summer 2001 to selected destinations including the Canaries, the Balearics, Greece and Florida. New destinations for next year are Lesvos and Thassos and the operator will also be operating for the first time to Chania airport in Crete and La Romana airport in the Dominican Republic.


n bcp launches easy traveller scheme


Airport car-park booking agent BCP has launched an Easy Traveller scheme at Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Manchester, Edinburgh and Glasgow. Clients, who are met at the airport terminal building by chauffeurs who park their vehicles in secure car parks, are allowed to use the executive airport lounges. The service costs £40.99 on top of the usual daily car-park charges.


n city airport offers on-line bookings


London City Airport has completed its on-line booking facility at www.londoncityairport.com. Developed in partnership with Ayscough Travel, the site offerson-line booking for any flight to or from the airport, plus hotel accommodation both in the UK and abroad. There are plans to offeron-line sales of currency, car hire and tax andduty-free shopping.


n air canada allows web and e-mail access


Air Canada plans to allow business-class passengers to send and receive e-mails and surf the Net via their own laptop computer while in flight. The service will be available on a number of its Boeing 767 aircraft from October for a six-month trial period. Air Canada claims the service will be faster and more cost-effective than other systems.
