Destinex.com on schedule for 2001 launch
INTERNET travel start-up destinex.com has stated that its Web site will be launched on schedule in the first quarter of next year, despite the recent turmoil in the Internet world.Former Going Places chairman Tony Bennett, who is heading the new venture, said: “Of course things have changed compared with a few months ago. Of course it’s tighter out there but we are still going full steam ahead. We are still beavering away.”
Bennett added that corporate travel would be a more important sector of the business than he originally thought.
Destinex.com has no plans to replace Adrian Watts, who accepted a job as vice-president business travel, but then decided to stay in his old job of executive director sales and distribution at Eurostar (Travel Weekly June 19).
