Seeking independent status
LONG-haul specialist Sovereign has strengthened its management team as it looks to create a business independent of its First Choice parent.For the first time, the operator has appointed a commercial director, Steven Burgess, who joins from outside the industry, while Tony Hickmott has been recruited from First Choice ski, lakes and mountains to be overseas director.
Managing director Philippa Harris said the move will give Sovereign greater independence from First Choice.
Other changes include the appointment of First Choice advertising and promotions co-ordinator Katy Lobo to Sovereign marketing communications manager with First Choice All inclusive product manager Karl Bolton becoming summer sunshine group manager.
