THE BOOMING Irish economy has prompted Norwegian
Cruise Line to break into the market with a dedicated programme.
The cruiseline is launching a brochure featuring product tailored solely to Irish holidaymakers.
The programme will include destinations to which Ireland has a direct flight connection, such as Boston and Miami but many customers will have to fly via the UK.
UK executive director Bill Ellerington said he hopes to generate up to 500 bookings and £750,000 worth of business in the first year of the brochure.
“The Irish economy is extremely healthy. There seems to be a lot of cash washing around,” he said.
The initiative will be overseen by national sales manager Mark Walter.
However, Ellerington plans to dedicate more staff to the project if it takes off as expected.
