Tams set to take new BA multiple sales role
BRITISH Airways has appointed Richard Tams as senior manager multiple sales for UK and Ireland.Tams will be responsible for alliance and franchise sales, having previously worked as the airline’s commercial manager reporting to BA head of UK and Ireland sales Tiffany Hall.
Tams will now report to BA general manager field sales Ian Heywood.
The new position has been created to strengthen the airline’s relationship with Hogg Robinson BTI, Carlson Wagonlit and American Express.
Meanwhile GB Airways, the British Airways franchise carrier, has appointed Jenny Ruler as its new marketing manager, to develop Internet opportunities and build relationships with agents and operators.
Ruler, who was previously UK marketing communications manager at Canadian Airlines, will also be involved in GBAirway’s new thrice-weekly scheduled service to Tenerife, set for launch on October 31.
Ruler’s appointment follows last month’s departure of Matthew Walls, who left GBAirways’ marketing department to join low-cost airline Buzz as head of European sales and marketing.
