Scottish passenger agents’ retail consortium
SPARC delays merger move
THESCOTTISH Passenger Agents’ Retail Consortiumwill postpone a decision on which other consortium to join forces with until at least next month, but it admits it will not be continuing on its own.Members were expected to opt for Travelsavers this week, ahead of Advantage Travel Centres.
But due to members being on holiday and current deals running until the end of the summer, SPARC said the details will not be discussed before the next meeting in early October.
SPARC director Jack Burnett of Munro’s Tourist Agency in Aberdeen said: “We operated for 18 months to find out what the optimum numbers are and we’ve decided there’s probably not enough to carry on.”
