BRAATHENS is to reopen its own enquiry office for agents on February 7.
The Newcastle Airport-based unit will become the main enquiry line for reservations, group bookings and general enquiries. KLM has handled calls for partner Braathens at its Norwich centre since 1998 but the Norwegian carrier said it wanted to give a dedicated service as well.
Enquiries for other airlines in the KLM group, including Alitalia and Northwest Airlines, are also handled exclusively from Norwich. However, agents who phone KLM will still be able to receive information.
A Braathens spokeswoman said that as Norway is considered a niche market by the KLM Group, it was decided that Braathens needed its own dedicated call centre at its UK base.
Four staff, each with specialist Scandinavian knowledge, will handle the calls at the centre. The telephone number for the Braathens office is 0191 214 0998.
