Educational results mixed, but mainly good

Darren Panto, marketing manager, Peltours

Peltours marketing manager Darren Panto organised a seven-night kibbutz flydrive educational for 14 agents in March last year and has mixed feelings about the results.

“It was a success in the way it opened agents’ eyes to the real Israel and promoted Peltours and I am sure we sold more holidays as a result but I am not sure we sold more kibbutz flydrives,” he said. “We stressed there would be a lot of driving and a lot of walking around Jerusalem and the agents were initially sceptical, but by the end they thought it was amazing.”

Each car had a kibbutz representative to do the driving unless agents requested otherwise. Each car was also given a mobile phone, although the idea was that the four cars would move in convoy and stop to see key sites.

The itinerary took the agents into the Negev for the first night at the Ramon Inn at Mitzpeh Ramon. They then headed to Masada and the Dead Sea, and up to the Galilee for the second night at Nof Ginosar. They also visited the Golan Heights, Jerusalem and Bethlehem, with overnights at Kfar Giladi, Maale Hachamisha and Ramat Rachel.

The last two nights of the trip were spent in Eilat. Panto said the eight days were an adventure but exhausting. A Peltours’ seven-night kibbutz flydrive costs from £520 per person bed and breakfast in superior accommodation with Group A rental car and flights.
