Kemp takes top sales role in Avis revamp
AVIS is planning a restructure to bring its e-commercebusiness under the responsibility of its national account managers.
UK manager travel sales Julia Kemp said the reshuffle is her priority after taking over the role from Tom Knopek.
She was previously sales manager retail and e-commerce.
Knopek has been promoted to director of leisure sales (Travel Weekly August 14).
“E-commerce combines retail and tour operator business on line so it makes sense to bring them together,” said Kemp.
She plans to employ at least two more account managers to handle the extra work.
Kemp is also keen to continue the greater focus on agents’ training which began when in May when a new team of five regional account managers were appointed.
Their primary role is to manage partnerships and train agents using Avis’ Driving School programme.
Kemp said: “They have achieved an awful lot in a short time but reviewing our service to retailers is a continual process.”
