* europcar tie-up
Europcar has teamed up with Novotel and Ibis hotels in the UK to install direct link phones for guests who want to book a car. The link automatically connects the caller to the nearestEuropcar office. Thecompany promises to deliver a vehicle free to the hotel within an hour.
* pelican rate cards
Pelican Car Rental has stopped printing rate cards for agents as they can now get prices from thebroker’s Web site. Director John Swindell said it made more sense to use the Web but added that the broker will put rate packs together for agents who request it.
* budget move
Budget has joined SaudiaArabian Airlines’ Alfurtan frequent-flyer programme for one year with an option to renew the partnership for another year. Members will be able to earn mileage on rental from programmes including Go!Budget and Business Club.
