Ranch America adds West Virginia
WESTERN US specialist operator Ranch America is branching out into the East Coast for the first time next year with white-water rafting holidays in West Virginia.
On offer in its new programme, due out at the end of this month, will be three and four-day stays including campsite accommodation, rafting on the Gauley and New Rivers, all meals, taxes and services of a professional guide. Land-only prices lead in at £440 per person.
Managing director Ron Harris said: “The two locations are in the top five for white-water rafting in North America. We will also be offering an eight-day/seven-night self-drive tour of the state that can be tied in with the rafting packages. We get a lot of agent enquiries about white-water rafting possibilities in the east, so I think they will be very popular.”
Harris added that a great advantage of featuring West Virginia is that it has more choice of gateways than some western activity destinations, with non-stop flights from London including Pittsburgh and Washington.
Go with the flow: three and four-day rafting packages are available
