Cosmos has included the Algarve as part of its new Quickies holiday concept in the operator’s third-edition Winter Sun brochure for 2000/2001. Theresort-based short break covers three or four nights and is particularly targeted at the singles market.

JMC’s 2001 brochure features new flydrive product in Madeira, Lisbon and the Algarve. Prices start from £335 for seven nights’ bed-and-breakfast accommodation. Also new are city breaks and 10 and 11-night durations for new destinations Lisbon and Oporto.

&#42 panorama boosts villas on offer

Panorama Holidays has expanded its programme to Portugal for next summer with four new villas in Vilamoura and the resort of Aramacao de Pera, both in the Algarve. The operator features hotels and apartments in the new resort from £315 per person for a week based on four sharing a one-bedroom apartment.

Short-break specialist Travelscene said Lisbon has re-entered its top 20 most popular cities list with a 44.4% increase in bookings for the current 2000 period compared with last year.
