East Midlands Airport offers luggage wrap
EAST Midlands Airport will be the first UKairport to introduce a luggage-wrapping service for passengers.
The portable Safe Case machine will be located in the airport’s main terminal prior to check-in. Passengers will be charged £3 for each item that is wrapped.
Luggage such as skis, pushchairs and golf clubs can be wrapped in clear plastic to protect them from damage and the weather.
East Midlands Airport property manager Stuart Horne said: “We are delighted to be the first UK airport to be able to offer this service. Many luggage items are expensive and this initiative will offer greater protection and peace of mind.”
The machine has been developed by the Safe Case Company which first saw the machine in operation at Miami Airport.
