Visits to the Heart iof England rise by 17%

THE Heart of England Tourist Board’s annual report has shown
an increase in visits to the region from people within the UK.

Visits to the HOE increased to 19.7 million, a rise of 17%
since 1998, and visitor spending reached £1,587 million.

The figures contrast with the British Tourist Authority’s
annual report which showed a 1% drop in visits from overseas.
