Gee highlights need to keep clients’ interest
AGENTS must continually develop and update their Web sites or they will become customer-free zones, eDreams marketing director Karen Gee warned.
The Travel Weekly columnist told retailers they also risk “death by design” if their sites contain too many graphics and a detailed registration form.
In a 10-point plan aimed at maximising the benefits of a Web site, Gee said: “You have got to keep the interest of customers and one of the ways is to continually add content. But it must be up to date.
“Lots of graphics and icons can also be confusing and take longer to download. Sites can suffer death by design – that is sites that are led by designers and not by consumers.”
Gee said it was important not to ask for too much information when customers sign up as registered users.
