Mission statement
O’Neill clarifies Advantage’s goals
ADVANTAGE Travel Centres unveiled its new mission statement at the ABTA convention in a move to clarify what the consortium is striving to achieve.
Sales and marketing director Colin O’Neill said: “We have never really said what we stood for and although it’s only words, I think it is important to get the message out to members.”
The message, which spells out how the consortium offers unrivalled service, quality and professionalism, will give members a common goal, he added.
“We have a diverse range of members and needed an umbrella message,” said O’Neill. “In the statement we have also said that Advantage has a duty to provide the best service to our suppliers. We wanted to demonstrate that we need a partnership approach.”
Meanwhile, O’Neill confirmed that 11 members of the Scottish Passenger Agents’ Retail Consortium have joined the consortium. They have a combined branch network of 16 shops.
In a separate development, Pat Murphy from Thornton’s Travel and Roderick Thompson from Regent Travel have been elected to the board as non-executive directors.
