* amadeus sees profit soar to £66.1m peak
Amadeus’third-quarter results saw the global distribution supplier’s profits increasing 8.6% on the same period last year to £66.1 million. Total revenue for the period ending September 30 increased 13.8% to £649.8 million.
* BAA opens the island lounge at heathrow
BAA has opened its airport lounge at Heathrow. The Island, which was due to open earlier this year, costs £25 and is open to all passengers regardless of ticket type. Facilities include showers, clothes valet and a shoe-cleaning service, a seating area, newspapers and satellite TV and Internet workstations. Located in Terminal 3 arrivals, The Island is open seven days a week, from 5am until 2pm.
* BA extends finnair codeshare agreement
British Airways has extended its codesharing agreement with Finnair to include the first long-haul destination between the two carriers. Finnair’s AY flight codes have been added to one of BA’s twice-daily services between Heathrow and Toronto. The two carriers currently codeshare between the UK and Finland and on domestic and short-haul connections.
