Teething problems for Ajents

Agents are reporting problems with a rail ticket booking system being rolled out by the Association of Train Operating Companies.

The Ajents system was launched earlier this year as a low-cost alternative for rail-appointed agents not connected to a global distribution system supplier.

ABTA director of rail Doug Wardle said: “Anumber of teething problems have emerged such as tickets being chewed up.”

ATOC retail operations manager Mike Lamb said the problem was one of expectation. “This is a basic system, meant to tide agents over until a fully integrated version is available next year.”
