Report by John Lavabre
A PROPOSED strike by Ryanair pilots has been called off
following talks between the airline and the Dublin Pilots Committee.
The pilots had threatened to take industrial action tomorrow,
Friday 24 November. The strike has been cancelled as the two sides have agreed
a 3% pay rise, increased flight allowances and improved rostering arrangements.
As a gesture of goodwill, Ryanair is offering passengers travelling
tomorrow free one-way flights to and from Dublin and Shannon. Both the airline
and its Dublin and Shannon-based pilots will also be making a contribution to the
North Dublin Hospice charity.
