EXPEDIA UK has launched a £4m marketing campaign that will include the first TV advertisements run by an on-line travel agency in the UK.
The six-week integrated TV, press and on-line campaign features a suave, James Bond-like character.
Managing director James Vaile said: “The main focus is to raise awareness to the level that a site like Amazon.com has.”
He would not reveal how much business Expedia UK is generating at present but claimed sales were 500% higher in the first week of this year than they were 12 months previously.
