BAA has
reported a good start to the new year with an 8.6% increase in passengers and
traffic, thanks to the continuing disruption to rail services.
Passenger
numbers grew to 8.3 million at its seven UK airports while domestic routes
increased by 14.1%, long haul, excluding North America, grew 11.7% and the
North Atlantic routes recorded a 5.5% gain. European charter services increased
by 2.2% and European scheduled services were up 8.6%.
