P&O Cruises is
increasing the number of staff at its Southampton call centre ahead of closing
down its London-based centre.
By the end of the
year, almost 150 new jobs will have been created in telesales and customer
support departments – a 60% increase on current levels.
P&O Cruises
said the Southampton centres has already handled nearly as half as many calls
as in the same period last year.
In 2002, voice and
data systems will be integrated so agents can recognise the caller when the
call is answered.
