Open letter to French Railways
I was disappointed to read in the recent edition of French Property News your proposals for the relaunch of Motorail services this year.
We, along with other tour operators I suspect, have been kept in the dark about these events. Despite having been assured by your marketing office that we would be advised of your new programme – to this date we have not received any communication from you.
As your agents, I would have expected to have been told of the new Motorail services if not in advance, at least at the same time as the press release. It makes us look inefficient and reduces our capability in the eyes of our clients.
It seems you have already forgotten last year’s fiasco where many agents and tour operators stood in the firing line of complaints from their own clients whose travel arrangements were entrusted to you.
It seems to me that some kind of acknowledgement in consideration of our position is due and indeed a briefing of your plans at this time would have been a way of doing this.
Instead you have ignored us. It may be that you, along with many other large organisations, wish to cut out smaller agents and put your business via your Web site, which I have to say was incomplete when I checked it yesterday.
I hesitate to comment on the services that the article suggests you will offer, I hope you are prepared and have increased your customer service department.
