Damaged Airtours jet stuck in Madeira

AN AIRTOURS International aircraft is stranded on the Portuguese
island of Madeira after what has been described as a “heavy” landing.

The Airbus jet’s fuselage was damaged when it landed at
Funchal airport last Wednesday.

A spokeswoman for Airtours said it is working with the
Portuguese authorities and Airbus representatives to find out what happened and
to get the all clear for the jet to fly again.

None of the passengers or crew were hurt in the incident.
