Unijet adds Caribbean product

UNIJET has added Margarita Island to its Caribbean brochure in a bid to forge closer ties at group level with First Choice.

It will share the flying on Air 2000 with First Choice, which already features the island, and help promote the destination through retailers. In a further move to find group synergies, First Choice will feature Brazil for the 2002 summer season. The country is already featured by Unijet.

First Choice Holidays division product manager Len Mooney said: “By having two mainstream operators feature these destinations, we hope to galvanise retail interest. It is also an example of how the group will be working together to support the airline.”

Elsewhere in Unijet’s Caribbeanprogramme, a third airport – Ciego de Avila – has been added in Cuba for next year.

Reflecting a general trend, capacity in the Spanish Caribbean has been increased while British Caribbean has been trimmed.

Following poor early sales for Brazil this year, which saw the charter plans delayed until August, next year’s programme will not start until July.
