Airline invests in Paris site


Air France is investing £4bn in improvements at Charles de Gaulle, working with airport ownerAeroports de Paris.



Changes include the opening of a fourth runaway next year to give 120 take-off and landings per hour in place of 97; a terminal and satellite building programme to boost space by 2007; a Metro link to Paris by 2005; and better road access.



Air France is installing self-service check-in points to reduce queues and is offering staff mobile check-in units to speed up the airport process. It is also opening a business lounge for UK travellers.



This summer will also see the installation of business class on key domestic routes. Besides Paris, Air France and Delta are also building up Lyons as a transatlantic hub as they seek a 15% increase in France-UK capacity this year.
