Great Plain
The Great Plain, or Puszta, has vibrant cities too. Debrecen, 140 miles from Budapest, is the country’s second largest city and Szege, around 100 miles southeast of the capital, both claim the title ‘King of the Plain’. Countless small towns and villages with white-walled farmsteads characterise the region.
