St Petersburg: promoting itself as ‘Florida’s Beach’
The Gulf Coast
St Petersburg/Clearwater is promoting its new slogan as ‘Florida’s Beach’ following national environmental awards for eight of its coastal areas and barrier islands.
These include Caladesi Island, Honeymoon Island, Sand Key, Clearwater beach and St Pete’s beach.
Also on the Pow Wow agenda is St Petersburg’s $40 million Bay Walk entertainment, shopping and dining complex which opened last autumn, and the first sections of the new Florida Botanical Gardens. Included are wedding, tropical, topiary and jazz garden designs, environmental workshops and the Gulf Coast Museum of Art and Heritage Village.
When completed next year, the $16 million, 250-acre project will comprise Florida’s largest gardens as the centrepiece of the Pinewood Cultural Park.
