Ellerby: already familiar with the Costa brand
Costa Cruises appoints Ellerby to head up UKsales division
COSTA Cruises has appointed Paul Ellerby to the position of UK managing director.
Ellerby, currently vice-president sales and marketing at Orient Lines, will replace Peter Richardson who is due to retire from the company on June 8 (Travel Weekly March 12).
Ellerby, who has been in his current role since 1996, will take up his new position on June 11.
A Costa Cruises spokesman said:”Ellerby knows about the Costa product. He worked as marketing manager at Ocean Cruise Lines when it merged with Costa in the early 1990s.”
Richardson has been in the travel industry for 43 years, the past 13 of which he spent as UKMD for Costa Cruises.
He started his career as a travel consultant at Thomas Cook in Birmingham. He then became product manager for Fred Olsen Cruise Lines before taking up his current role with Costa in 1988.
