Gambia bans sale of all-inclusives

The Gambia Department for Tourism and Culture has banned the sale of all-inclusive hotel packages amid fears it is affecting the local economy.

Gambia National Tourist Office senior tourism officer Saye Drameh said there was no real motivation for tourists to leave the resort and spend money in local shops, restaurants and attractions.

Serenity Holidays marketing executive Louise Thomas said it had only offered all-inclusive at one of its properties so it hasn’t affected business.
