ABTA has plumped for Cairo over Budapest as the destination
for next year’s convention.
Swayed by the Egyptian capital’s new convention centre and
deluxe hotels, ABTA chief executive Ian Reynolds is confident that pre and
post-tour options will attract members wanting to extend their stay.
The date of the convention has been brought forward by two
weeks to October 16-19, which Reynolds believes may attract more delegates.
Normally, the convention is only two weeks before World Travel Market, which
could deter some people from attending both events.
